50' - AAR Double-Door Boxcar - first built in the late 1940s and 1950s. These more modern cars featured improved Dreadnaught ends and metal Apex running boards. Wide double doors with 16' door openings and two Youngstown doors on each side allowed for easy loading and unloading of large cargo, such as lumber, building materials, appliances and more. These cars spent decades roaming the rails across the country.
